As soon as Harry Reid's timetable for surrender amendment was defeated at the end of his "pajama party" session the other night, he picked up his toys and left the playground. Making as though the amendment was the only important item in the defense spending bill, he put the important funding bill on the shelf, determined not to bring it out again until Senators were willing to put in an amendment that few in America see as vital. What great leadership these Democrats are providing!
While many Senators, including some from his own party, are interested in moving forward with the funding bill, Wacky Reid is content to let our brave men and women in the military suffer. I've seen spoiled three-year-olds act more mature than this guy. This is the very kind of reaction many on the Right knew would follow as the Left bought their way into power last year.
Plain and simple, these Democrat Senators were a hindrance to progress when they were in the minority. What on earth made people think they were going to be any different if they were handed the majority? With little to show from six months in power, now comes the task of setting fiscal policy, with little hope of progress I might add.
