Change???

During his campaign, Obama promised hope and change.  He's already done what he can to reduce our hope by telling us it may take a while before we can see improvement.  Actually, though, hope is hard to gauge.

So, what about change?  Has he brought us that?  Maybe he has brought some change, though some wonder if it's the right kind of change, but mostly there is no real change.  And that's not a good thing.

An Obama Presidency

So, what could be the worst thing that could happen if Obama were to win on Nov. 4?  Would it really mean the end of our nation?  Our world?  Would any of us really feel a difference?

I'd like to make a few predictions as to what to expect should the Obamessiah win.

First, socialism would finally finish off capitalism.  Obama, with the help of Pelosi and Reid, would begin an immediate shift in policy.  They would pass tax increases, which might eventually reach all the way down to those earning $40,000 to $50,000 (for starters).  While they would begin by taxing the "rich", to pay for the giveaways they desire, that would be a very fluid definition.  Things such as expanded higher education funding, nationalized healthcare and expanded tax credits for the poor would not stop at the very top.  As taxes go up, revenue goes down.  That's common economics.  Would they decide they couldn't afford everything they want to do?  No, they would just increase taxes on the way down until they can get what they want.  That is larger government and larger government control.  The by product will be to drive small businesses out of business and drive larger businesses out of the country.

Second, they will institute a national healthcare system that will eliminate the current model of private insurance companies.  They will regulate the costs and payments.  This will drive more and more doctors and nurses out of the field, as they will no longer be able to afford to pay their loans and it will no longer be desirable to be a doctor.  It just won't make sense.  Companies will end their offering of insurance, pushing employees to the federal policy.  To afford healthcare, just as in places like Canada and England, the government will have to make determinations on who should be eligible for care, using the "quality of life" criteria.  That means many won't get care because they just can't justify the cost for their lives.

Third, Obama, Pelosi and Reid will try to codify abortion into the Constitution.  They realize that at this point it is on shaky ground, at best.  There is no "right" to abortion in the Constitution and it would only take a plurality of Justices to overturn it, especially if the people will it.  They will also fight to overturn the ban on partial-birth abortions and to remove protections for the just born who might require a little help to make it.  They would use their national healthcare and the "quality of life" argument to end the lives of thousands of pre-mature or failed abortion babies.  Their assult on the unborn would escalate.  Eugenics would make a strong comeback.  Also, expect to pay for embryonic stem cell research, even though it has never produced any medical advances, as adult stem cell research has.

Fourth, hate crime laws would become stronger and stronger, making the Bible a book of "hate speech."  You need only look at your local college campus to see what hate speech codes bring about.  You can look at Canada, where pastors are sued and convicted of hate speech if they choose to preach from certain passages.  The First Amendment will take it's most brutal assault since McCain-Feingold.  It will erode until we don't recognize it at all.

Fifth, over time, Obama will appoint judges who will ensure that "gay marriage" becomes the next "right" found in the Constitution.  Even states who have passed amendments to their constitutions will find those laws ruled unconstitutional.  States will be forced to accept these unions, paying for healthcare and granting tax breaks to those their people do no desire to do so to.  Minister's who refuse to "marry" such couples will be brought to task under the previously mentioned hate crime laws.

Sixth, gun control laws will be stricter and stricter.  The appointment of activist judges will make this easier over time.  As time goes on, our Second Amendment rights will go the way of our First Amendment rights.  The Bill of Rights will become less and less relevant.  You could expect mini Waco's in your neighborhood.  It might even be your home, next.

Seventh, expect terrorist activity worldwide to explode.  With the appeasement attitudes that Obama holds, terrorists will be emboldened.  They will attack innocent people the world over.  They will attack our interests and those of our allies.  They will use that same attitude to force "tolerance" within our own country, aided by the hate speech laws, to force people here to accept their activity and laws.  In countries around the world, Muslim communities are being allowed to enact Sharia laws and override local courts where they contradict.  As they expand their communities, so will their influence.

Eighth, expect more and more energy policies to be "green" friendly.  Taxes on petroleum, coal and other forms of "dirty" energy to be used to extinguish them.  We will pay more at the pump and more on our utilities as they are taxed more to "punish" us for not being green.  The farce that is global warming will become the only accepted science, just like Darwinism is the only science allowed in the classroom.  Anyone who questions global warming will be labeled a quack and removed from the public square.  We will be forced to pay for research and technology which support this bad science.

Finally, expect our sovereignty to be sold out to the U.N.  Our role on the global scene will gradually fade and we will not be a major player.  We will see the U.N. garner a larger role and we will be forced to agree, fund and implement whatever they desire.  We will shrink on the world stage until we are no longer relevant.  With our economy shrinking due to overburdening taxation, it won't bother the rest of the world.  Those who have hated us for our freedoms and prosperity will gladly write our eulogy and will be glad to ridicule us and claim that they "American Experiment" did not work.

So, how dangerous will it be to elect Obama?  Not so bad; if you hate America, that is.

Hypocrites Of Disenfranchisement

Ever since the 2000 election, we have heard tale after tale, complaint after complaint, stating that the Republican party is systematically disenfranchising voters.  First it was voters in Florida, then in Ohio, among other places.  Every time the Democrats don't win an election their prognosticators tell them they will win, they scream about disenfranchisement of the voters.  I've often wondered how they can tell what it looks like to have voters disenfranchised.

According to my friend, Blue Collar Muse, over at the Tennessee ConserVOLiance, it's because they have been doing it.

While not one claim they have against Republicans has ever been found to be true, they are systematically working across the nation to keep voters from letting their voice be heard.  Whether it's the abortion issue in Tennessee or the gay marriage issue in Massachusetts or homeschooling in California, they work to have voters signatures kept off petitions or take so long verifying them, that the time expires.  Yet, at the same time, in Memphis, they have votes from dead people to elect a member of a known corrupt family.  They use judges to overrule votes of the people and legislatures elected by people.

It's time for the American people to wake up and realize that the Democrats have become elitists and no longer have the good of our nation at heart.  They are only interested in their power and their special causes.  We must rid ourselves of them and restore freedom and democracy in our nation.

The Value Of Life

Roe v Wade was decided in 1972.  We were told that it would eliminate children coming into situations where they were unwanted and protect women from dangerous, back-alley abortions.  We were told it would ensure that children were treated better, as they would be in situations where they were wanted and apprecitated.

Complete, vivid sex education has been a part of public education for several decades.  We were told that it would teach children and teens to protect themselves.  We were told that it would reduce teen pregnancy.  We were told it would teach them to respect themselves.

We were lied to.

Aside from the fact that abortion is the ultimate form of child abuse, incidents of child abuse have risen.  People no longer value the life of children.  How many children have had to hear from a parent, "I should have aborted you?"  How many parents have secretly told themselves that, even without voicing it to their children?  If they have at least thought it, what does that say about the value of the lives of these children?

Sex education, rather than teach young people to respect themselves, it has opened a Pandora's box of teens exploring sex and trying to disassociate emotions from actions.  While we want teens to "just say no" to drugs, heaven forbid we teach them that about sex!  Teens are now experimenting with sex, with girls trying to act like boys regarding emotions, feelings and promiscuity, ignoring the fact that this kind of activity leads to depression and suicide.  We are just not designed to behave like that.

So, what has got me on my tirade today?  I just read a story of a Houston teen, a 14-year-old girl, who gave birth in her Middle School bathroom and decided to flush the child down the toilet.  How could someone do that and not feel immediate guilt?  How can a society produce someone who would act in such a manner?  Can such a society survive itself for long?

Rather than all we were promised, we now have a generation of young people who have been taught that sex is nothing more than an animal instinct that they can't resist, in fact that they should embrace, and that abortion is just one more form of birth control.  I'm sure that was what led to this young girl's actions.  It was the unashamed animal sex that led to the pregnancy, and the only thing she did wrong was that she didn't get an abortion.  If she had gone to a Planned Parenthood clinic instead of school that morning, she would have been heralded as a hero for exercising her right to choose.  I'm sure in here mind, there was no difference.

Every day on the news, we hear stories of parents killing their children to get even with a spouse, perverts stealing the innocence of children for their own gratification and children being beaten or otherwise abused.  There is so much violence against our children.  How have we come to so remove value from them?

I have two children, one natural and one adopted.  They are both precious to me.  While I can be stern in my discipline, to protect and teach them, I cannot imagine my life without them.  I value them.  Unfortunately, I don't think we are teaching our young people to value themselves, or life.

Second Amendment Validity

Today, the Supreme Court will hear the case against the gun ban in Washington, D.C.  They have the chance today to turn around several years of bad decisions by making the right one today.  They will decide if the Second Amendment really means that people have the right to keep and bear arms when it says that people have the right to keep and bear arms.

After decisions over the last few decades ruling that the Constitution includes rights to an abortion and rights to gay sex, among other things, they have a chance to rule on a right that is actually stated in the Constitution.  We have seen them make rulings based on the "right to privacy," now they will make a ruling on an actual numerated right.  Of course, it shouldn't even be one that should be heard, since it's actually mentioned.  That should be common sense, but that seems to have left our society.

At the core of the argument is whether they founders actually intended for individuals to have the right, or if it was to be left to state militias.  In fact, the beginning of the amendment specifically mentions that for the purpose of keeping a well armed militia, the need for keeping and bearing arms is important for the people.  Yet, as you look at how they pictured the defense of our nation, there was no national military, but state militias made up of individuals who provided their own arms.  This kept the need for taxes out of the equation.  See, our Founding Fathers abhorred taxes more than guns, and viewed taxes as more evil than guns.

Yet, even with this mention of militias, our Founding Fathers would have never imagined a society where guns, and the right of people to protect themselves, would have existed.  In reading letters and speeches from them, they saw the need of the people to be armed for several reasons.  Of those reasons, protecting ourselves from an oppressive government was mentioned quite frequently.  They saw in a government that disarmed its citizens a great danger.

We do not need to look far through history to see the dangers of disarming the people.  In the mid-1930s, Adolf Hitler knew that he could never have taken power in Germany if the people were armed.  For that reason, one of his first actions was to disarm the people and outlaw gun ownership.  Then, as he stormed through the streets at night, arresting innocents, there was no one to stop him.  Is that what we want in America as we start the 21st Century?

A review of history and the times of our nation's founding will show that in a nation of hunters, the main source of feeding one's family, why would they have thought individuals should not own guns?  In fact, those types of guns were thought to be necessary for each individual.  As for pistols, they did not come to the mainstream until the late 19th Century, although there were some black powder pistols in the colonial days.  There was not attempt, though, by the early government to limit any of these.

As we come through history, it is only in the last 40 years that there is any indication that guns are brought into question.  The further we go back in time, closer to the Founding Father's time, there is no attempt to limit this right, not even during the "wild west" days.  If is has only come to question lately, I would have to question the question.

Hopefully, as the Court has "found" other rights, they will "find" the right to bear arms in the listed right to bear arms.

Sacrificing Our Children On The Alter Of Selfish Desires

After nearly forty years of amoral sex education in schools, a new study reports that one in four teenage girls has a sexually transmitted disease, STD.  Our children have been exposed to sex education classes in public schools, taught by trained teachers and given full access to all the possible "safe sex" material known to man.  Yet, all that seems to have happened is that they have lost their innocence and become diseased, some of which do not go away.

We live in a society that is over exposed to sex.  It is in the video games and movies.  It is in advertising and on billboards, in magazines and everywhere we turn.  There is no escaping it.  Their idols role models flaunt their sexuality and glamorize it.  Even our politicians treat it as if it's not big deal.

School curriculum is less preventative instruction and more of a "how-to" manual.  They are given condoms and shown how to put them on fruit.  They are told about abortion and birth control.  They know more about STDs than any generation in history.  Yet, here we are today; one in four girls with an STD.

Why?  There is one part of sex education that is missing.  Where it is not missing, it is ridiculed, treated as ineffective and given the old "wink, wink", as if there is no way possible they could possibly follow its path.  That missing component is abstinence and self-control.

The way sex has been taught to this point, treats it as an inevitability.  We tell young people that we expect that they are going to have sex and want them to be responsible.  Then, we are surprised at studies like this one and high teen pregnancy and abortion rates.  Tell them they are animals and act surprised when they act like one.

What's wrong with teaching people to have some self-control?  We make actions such as drinking and driving, theft, murder and assault crimes, expecting people to exercise self-control.  Self-control is the most difficult thing we can do.  It needs accountability and practice.  But, it is very rewarding.  So, why don't we teach them that?

I'll tell you why:  If we teach them they must exercise self-control, we'd have to exercise it ourselves.

Our "just do it," microwave, I want it now society doesn't want anyone to tell us that what we want to do is wrong, so we don't want to tell others what is wrong.  As long as no one is hurt, we claim, it's alright.  There's a problem, though.  Teens having sex is harming others.

It leads to a society that convinces girls that they should follow their "natural urges."  We have girls that are acting like sailors on leave.  They act like they are sex starved and that nothing matters but getting the next guy into bed.  They have competitions to see how can have the most guys by the end of the semester.  They act as though there are no emotional attachments.  But nothing could be further from the truth.

We are producing girls, and teens in general, that are not only diseased, but emotionally scarred and suicidal.  The number of young girls attempting suicide is growing.  Psychologists claim that the number is reflective of those that are sexually active.  Suicide attempts by girls that have had abortions have been brushed over for years by the MSM and the industry.  But, we don't want to tell them it's wrong.

So, since we don't want to exercise a little self-control ourselves, we are placing our children on the alter of "if it feels good, do it" and plunging the knife into their hearts.  We are sacrificing our children so that no one will have to feel "uncomfortable."  I hope we can live with ourselves for it.
