Presidential Pardons

There have been a few things that have really gotten under my skin about President Bush.  One of those was his unabashed push for amnesty for illegal immigrants.  He wanted to give them a "path to citizenship" rather than a boot out of the country and permanent ban.  He clearly missed the will of the people on that one.

The other item has been his refusal to pardon two true American heroes; Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.  These two men were defending our nation from illegal activity and are now sitting in a federal prison while the drug-running illegal immigrant they were trying to stop has been given immunity and free medical care.  All the President has to do is pardon them and this extreme injustice will come to an end.

Instead, he makes light of the process and program by "pardoning" two turkeys the week of Thanksgiving.  He also took the time to pardon someone who shot a bald eagle, the very symbol of America.  Yet, he can't find it in himself to pardon two men that most of Americans, on both sides of the aisle, want out of jail.

I hope in his waning days, President Bush will do the right thing and listen to the American people and pardon these two great men.  Otherwise, it looks like he is at the behest of the Mexican government by leaving them to sit our their unjust prison sentences.  We'll know soon.

The Bush Legacy

For months, we have been worried that Barack Obama is going to bring his brand of socialism to America if elected President.  We have fought to keep the "s" word from our government, feeling that we need to fight hard to defeat this Red threat.  Little did we realize that the real threat would come from the inside.

As President Bush has been fighting for the last six months or so to make sure his legacy is better than it appears to be headed toward, he has now ensured he will go down in history.  For the past two weeks he has been pushing for this large, socialistic, Wall Street bailout.  He has been motivated by his legacy, I suspect, not wanting a horrific economy to be his legacy.  In turn, he will go down as the President responsible for the institution of socialism in America.

This bailout of the rich will not make a difference for the average American.  Those rich CEOs on Wall Street will benefit, as they will not have to suffer their own consequences.  Foreclosures will continue.  Loans will continue to be near impossible for the average person and small business.  The middle class will disappear and most of us will be poor, relying on the graciousness of Big Brother to get us from bread line to bread line.  The disaster they hoped to avoid, will only be avoided by the elite in business and government.

As we go forward from here, we need to ensure history properly records the responsibility for this end to free market.  The same man who told us that we would cease to be a country if we didn't accept amnisty for illegals, has now sold us a bill of goods that lead us to the very menace Reagan protected us from.  Long live the legacy of Bush.

I Just Can't Listen To Him Anymore!

I work in a location that has news going on a regular basis.  It is Fox News, at least, so I don't have to listen to the likes of CNN, MSNBC or the networks, fawn over Obama, but when he speaks, even Fox broadcasts it.  The more he speaks, the more I really dislike him and his agenda.

First of all, he speaks with such an arrogance.  As he begins to lay out his agenda and ideas, his voices screams that he knows better than everyone in America.  I really believe he thinks this way, too.  He knows more than us on health care, the military, international affairs, etc.  He goes on and on and on with his babble and even when he's wrong, as with the surge, he thinks he's better than us.  I just really can't listen to him anymore!

Second, the way he treats our allies makes me wonder who's interest he has at heart.  He speaks with such hatred and angst with regard to Iraqi President al-Maliki, but feels that what is best for our country is to sit down over a cup of tea with Ahmadinejad, Hamas and Hezbollah.  If I were al-Maliki, if Obama became President, I wouldn't give the man the time of day.  Does Obama realize that Iraq is now an ally?

Third, he is just so out of touch with reality and capitalism, that I just want to bash my head against the wall when he speaks.  Bigger government and more taxes.  I think he really thinks those things made America what it is today.  He wants more government involvement in our lives from education to health care.  Of course, to pay for that government intrusion, he'll need to tax all the evil people with money, but actually only those rich people who have worked for their money, not like the Democrat rich who got it the "old fashioned way" by inheriting it.  I just can't listen to him anymore!

Finally, his history is so far from reality, I can't believe him in anything.  He keeps talking about our military being stretched so thin and our deficits being so large.  He believes President Bush has decimated our military and spent like a drunken sailor.  I think he forgets that it was a Republican controlled Congress, before they went wild, that kept Clinton's spending under control and forced him to cut the size of government.  It was also Clinton who cut the military so drastically that Russia now feels confident that they can push us around.  Reagan would have never let them get away with it, and they wouldn't have tried.  Clinton cut the military so much that we can barely fight in two small republics in the Middle East.  If the Democrat controlled Congress would cut earmarks and worthless programs, as well as stop the flow of money south of the border from illegals, we'd have plenty of money.

Eight weeks.  That's how much longer we have to listen to him.  Surely, in that amount of time, the American people will come to their sense and tell him soundily, "We just can't listen to you anymore!"

Yep, He's Still An Idiot!

You'd think that with his father being a Muslim, he'd understand that there is absolutely no negotiating with a country like Iran.  B. Hussein Obama says that he wouldn't negotiate with terrorists, but that he would negotiate with countries like Iran.  You know, the ones that support terrorists.

As was asked from him, what would he say to them to get them to negotiate?  Is there anything he could say to Iran that would get them to like us better or to back off their talk about ridding the world of Israel?  Just what does he expect as an answer:  Oh, since you put it that way, Mr. President, we're sorry that we've been killing your troops and calling for the destruction of Israel?

There is only one thing he could say that would gain favor with Iran.  If he were to pledge troops, arms and nukes to destroy Israel, Iran might be willing to talk to us.  Their Muslims, that's all they want.  Period.

So, are we to understand that, in the name of peace with a terrorist nation, B. Hussein Obama might be willing to do just that?  I don't think any loving, compassionate Christian would do that.  Of course, we have seen the kind of "Christianity" that he was mentored under.

Of course, the interesting thing to all this is that the President never mentioned any names in his speech.  For B. Hussein Obama to take offense, there must be more to his conscience that meets the eye.  I also think, if this kind of criticism bothers him, maybe he shouldn't be running for the White House.  President Bush has had to endure far worse, and actually direct, criticism from everyone on the Left, especially Obama's largest supporter and financier, MoveOn.org.

If Obama is the best the Left have to offer, I fear for our country.  If he wins, I really fear for our country.  I guess it really does take a village to raise an idiot.

Bush On Oil Prices

I have been so glad this week to hear the President come out so strongly criticizing the Democratic leadership for their policies on energy.  He has twice reminded Americans that were it not for the likes of Pelosi and Reid, and their love affair with eco-terrorist groups like Sierra Club and PETA, we could be drilling on American soil and building more refineries.  He is just now placing the blame squarely where it belongs and reminding Americans just who is to blame.

Despite promises during the 2006 election that the Left had the answers for high oil prices, prices have continued to rise.  Maybe that was their answer; higher prices!  They continue to show that they have no idea how to lead this country and how to get lower prices at the pump.

Of course, we have Hillary and Obama out there telling us the answer is to tax the profits of the big oil companies.  In this they show their stupidity and lack of knowledge of how a market economy works.  Sure, they can tax the oil companies $10-15 Billion.  Sure, the companies will send it to the government.  Who do you think will pay it, though?  We will.  The Left has never figured out that every tax they put on business gets shuffled down to us, the consumer.  Stupid.

I hope the President continues to apply pressure on Congress, reminding the people of ANWR and the old refineries.  If he can keep that out there, reminding the Democratic leadership that their inaction in proof that they don't care, maybe we can derail the Left once and for all and rid our country of these socialists.  Let's send them to Cuba where they long to be.

Proof Of Media Aid And Comfort To Enemy

Since the beginning of the Iraq War, supporters of the troops and the war have complained that the Mainstream Media, MSM, have provided aid and comfort to the enemy.  The Left has mocked and ridiculed us, complaining that we are making it up to cast them in a bad light.  The Department of Defense has released a report detailing two surges in US casualties.

Both surges came after specific incidents that garnered much attention in the MSM.  The first was the Abu Ghraib incident and the second was the Congressional ban on "torture."  Media attention from the first caused a backlash from the enemy, strengthening their resolve.  The second resulted in a lack of information being gathered, leading to more attacks from the enemy succeeding.  WorldNetDaily has an analysis of the report you can read here.

The MSM did such a job of trying the Abu Ghraib incident in the court of the public eye, the enemy was further enraged and became more determined.  Rather than allow the military to handle the incident and punish those responsible of wrongdoing, the MSM decided it would be better to point it out to the enemy.  They may have thought it would only cause problems for President Bush in the States, but that's not what happened.  Yet, they have never felt any remorse for the surge in American deaths their actions led to.

The second surge was a direct result of a lack of what the military calls "coercive interrogation."  The MSM and Congress decided to call this torture.  Congress banned a list of techniques, handcuffing our men in action from getting the information they desperately need to save lives.  Interrogators can spend hours and weeks and months trying to get information from terrorists by simply asking them questions.  One waterboarding instance took thirty seconds, saving lives.  These terrorists are prepared for our techniques, willing to wait out our interrogators.  When we throw something at them that they were not prepared for, they break in short order.  Are some of these techniques harsh or extreme?  Maybe.  Did I mention, though, we are fighting terrorists, who don't have any problem in cutting someone's head off?  I think since we are not stooping to their level, we are not, in any way, as bad as they are.

Plain and simple, because the MSM has chosen to attack and attempt to discredit this President with their stories, they have placed our troops in far greater danger and provided aid and comfort to our enemy.  Yet, they want us to believe they support the troops.  I think not.

Bush Pardons Drug Dealers But Not Heroes

It was announced today that President Bush found it in his heart to pardon 15 criminals, several of which were convicted of drug possession and distribution.  Yet, two American heroes, Border Agents Compean and Ramos, remain in prison for shooting an illegal immigrant in this country for the purpose of delivering 750 pounds of drugs.  Does anyone else see a pattern here?

I have been a supporter of the President on several issues.  I have appreciated the seriousness with which he has fought terrorists, fighting them on their soil rather than ours.  I supported his tax cuts whole-heartedly.  I support his vision for privatizing the failed Social Security system.  For the most part, he has submitted strong, originalist judges.

The seriousness with which he takes in regard to the border, though, has really gotten my ire up.  He has offered amnesty, a free pass, to millions of illegals here in our country.  He has gone out of his way to show the Mexican government that he is accommodating to these criminals on our soil.  In doing this, he has ignored the problems they cause, killing more Americans each year than have been killed in the whole of the Iraq way, and the amount of money they cost tax payers in medical and education dollars.

He had a chance to get it right by pardoning Agents Compean and Ramos after their bogus trial and conviction.  These two heroes were doing their job when they tried to detain a career drug runner, an illegal from Mexico.  When they were threatened, they responded with appropriate force, wounding the thug.  Yet, our government chose to arrest and imprison them to satisfy the Mexican government, rather than free them and honor them.

Now, this slap in the face of these wonderfully brave heroes.  The President see fit to free drug dealers rather than those who actually take serious the war from the south.  Even Hillary and Obama have stated they would pardon them.  Since Bush will not get it right, I hope they can hold on until he is out of office.  Then, surely, someone will pardon them.

With No One Left To Choose From, Bush Endorses McCain

Apparently President Bush was hoping for a better choice, too, as he is now endorsing Sen. McCain, the only choice left.  While the President has had months to hear what each candidate had to say and put his sway behind the one who would reflect his beliefs and opinions, yet he waited until there was only one choice.  That shows the problem most Conservatives are facing.

Conservatives of all backgrounds have lamented the lack of someone with true Conservative credentials.  Now, we are left with but one choice.  We must now decide to back McCain, stay home, or do the unthinkable, vote for a Liberal.

The only hope we are left with is the hope that McCain will begin to build bridges with us.  We know he can compromise, but he usually does it with people he agrees with, Liberals.  He will still need a majority of Conservatives to vote, so maybe he'll be interested in working with us.

So, as the President throws his weight behind the only man still standing, let's watch and see with this man does and says.  Only time will tell.

Nancy Pelosi, The Best Friend A Terrorist Could Have

Since coming into the leadership position in the House last year, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has done more to aid and comfort terrorist than she has to serve the American people and provide for our safety.  Because she is filled with so much hatred for President Bush and traditional American values, she has been more interested in slowing down legislation that protects us and promoting legislation that will destroy everything we hold dear.  Her very actions benefit terrorists wishing to do harm to our great nation.

The latest incident is her refusal to bring the FISA bill, a bill that allows our intelligence agencies to gather information on those who communicate with terrorists overseas, to a vote.  Instead, she has decided that the House should take a break, letting the current legislation expire.  This, after the Senate was able to put together bipartisan legislation to extend the act.  Apparently, after only about 5 weeks of work, the House needs a break.

During this time of "work", there have been endless hours of hearings to determine whether Roger Clemens used steroids and a vote to hold Harriet Miers and Josh Bolten in contempt for their refusal to testify in the bogus, worthless, obstructionist hearings regarding the Presidents decision to fire his employees.  These follow a pattern of ineffective leadership by the Congresswoman from California.

Yet, when they do pass legislation, it is legislation that is detrimental to our nation.  I speak most of the recent stimulus package passed.  This is a bill destined to undermine and do very little good to our economy.  They pass omnibus bills that include billions in pork, talk of raising taxes, then give $150 billion to people who have very little chance of boosting the economy.

Pelosi's leadership has led to historically low approval ratings for Congress.  The people of the US see the worthlessness of her leadership, they see the ineffectiveness of the work of the House under her leadership, yet she continues to operate in this manner.  The only ones I see that have that kind of tenacity are the terrorists determined to destroy us.  Looking at the eventual outcome of Pelosi's actions, they have the same goal.
