Freedom

Apparently it's not really about freedom, after all.  As over one million voters in California signed on to a petition to put a Constitutional amendment on the November ballot, members of the homosexual community are petitioning the high court in that state to ban the vote.  It seems that the gay community in California doesn't believe the people of California have a right to petition their government and vote to have their voices heard.

As much as they'd like for us to believe that this is all about freedom, privacy and civil rights, they have no problem stripping the general public of their freedom, forcing their "private" matter into the public spotlight and denying the most basic of rights, the right to define society.  Therefore, they head to a liberal court to have their view forced on the people of California, who have already passed a law that their desire is to define marriage as one man and one woman.

They rest everything on one argument; civil rights.  Often times we hear them compare their "struggle" to that of  African-Americans.  Blacks in our nation fought so hard and so long to gain the equal rights they are due, now the gay community has no problem trampling the significance of that battle.  They belittle the black community in our nation and thumb their noses at society in general in doing so.

Their primary keyword is love.  It's all about love.  Government should discriminate on the basis of love.  They should have the same rights as others to love who they want.  Love, love, love.  It's obvious, they have no idea what real love is and are trying to pervert its true meaning.

I would never doubt or question someone's love for another.  Love is the most powerful emotion known to man.  It is also our most important.  It drives us to do things for others that we might otherwise not be willing to do.  It draws us together and propagates the species.  We should love others, regardless of their physical attributes, gender, race, etc.

That doesn't mean we marry everyone we love.  I love my pastor at church.  I would do anything for him.  He is a very close, personal friend.  I feel very close to him.  That in no way means that I'm thinking of marrying or sleeping with him.

This issue is all about sex for homosexuals.  They want to have sex with who they want and they don't want anyone telling them it's wrong or sinful.  They want the state to sanction it, put its blessing on it, so no one can say anything.  That's all this is about.

I'm not even buying that it's about hospital visitation or property rights.  Those are things that can be taken care of with wills, living wills and other legal documents.  Almost anything we have been led to believe they are interested in can be handled with a legal document without having to force gay marriage on a society that deems that perverted.

So, on this sacred weekend when we celebrate the brave steps our Founding Fathers took to secure us the freedom to govern ourselves and decide on the kind of society we will be, remember that there is an element of our society that wants to suppress our rights and our voice.  The fight is not over.

BTW, Sen. Obama, who once stated that he felt each state should be able to decide on their own whether they want to allow gay marriage or not, has stated that he is opposed the the California amendment that would ban it.  In other words, he's decided that Californians shouldn't be allowed to decide for themselves if they want to allow gay marriage after the court has made its decision.  So, I guess what he means is that each state Supreme Court should decide whether they want to allow gay marriage.

California...Really?

Once again the omniscient California Supreme Court has decided it is smarter and more holy than the people of California.  The people of California voted to define marriage as one man and one woman.  It's the will of the people.  Yet, today, the Court decided they couldn't do that.

This is not the first time it has happened, either.  In 1986, the people voted that local governments could not raise taxes without the will of the people.  A court overturned that.  Several years ago, as well, the people of California voted that they didn't want to fund health care and education for illegals.  The court said they couldn't do it.

We are seeing this happen more and more, not only in California, where the courts decide that the people do not have the right to set their own rules and laws.  In this case, the people of California have clearly stated that they don't want the deviance of homosexuality honored and preferred to heterosexuality.  They decided that all are treated equal, every man can marry the woman of his choice without restriction and every woman can marry the man of her choice without restriction.  They decided they did not want to sanction the perversion and lust of a few.  They understood, if this perversion is allowed, what is next?  What of polygamy?  What of marriage to a child?  Can anything be limited?

I have to say that I'm not at all really surprised by this ruling.  Anyone who didn't see this coming really should get their head out of the sand.  Sure, there will be those who will say that there were 6 Republicans on the court.  Remember, though, this is a state where Arnold Schwartzenegger is considered a Republican.  California has been lost for years.  I think now, this is just one more straw on the camels back, it's time to consider pulling out of California.  If Democrats in Washington are calling for us to pull out of Iraq, because we've lost, surely they'll see the same situation in California.  We've lost!

Maybe we can give it back to Mexico, move the rest of the illegals there and get back to rationality and sanity.

Court Still Can't Get It Right On Homeschooling

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles 2nd Appellate Court ruled that parents do not have a right to homeschool their children.  They ruled that the state is the sole provider of quality education and parents are required to place their children in these state controlled indoctrination centers.  This ruling has gotten ire up of homeschoolers across the nation, California Governor Arnold Schwartenegger, the California legislature and several US legislators.

This week, the court agreed to rehear the case at the request of the parent, their umbrella school and the Governor, among others.  Rather than hear the arguments of those involved, though, the court wants to hear from several teacher's unions regarding their opinions on homeschooling.  I suppose they would also want to hear Karl Marx's opinion on capitalism if that were the case!

The absurdity of the court's request is a simple slap in the face of homeschoolers everywhere.  Aside from this court, I can't imagine a more corrupt body in the US.  Teacher's unions across the nation are bought and paid for by extremists, namely the gay and lesbian community.  That hits at the heart of this case.

In my opinion, this case arose because of the recent bill passed in California; the bill that forces educators to impress only positive teaching on gays upon children.  In response, Christians and family advocates across the state have called for a mass exodus from public schools.  It was after this call that this case came to the forefront, with this court deciding to scare hundreds of thousands of parents out of pulling their children out to homeschool.  Now, they are partnering with the corrupt teacher's unions to achieve their goals.

The fact that this court feels it can get an unbiased opinion out of the teacher's union on this case strikes at the heart of the agenda of this court.  Add to that the fact that they refuse to hear from the umbrella school, or any other advocates for homeschooling, and you get the picture of how similar this court is to old Nazi Germany.  Germany, in fact, still has Nazi-era laws on the books regarding homeschooling, and currently jails parents and kidnaps their children for the crime of homeschooling.  This court is trying to follow in their footsteps.

It has become more than apparent that families are under attack in California.  California is no longer a family-friendly state.  They have let extremist groups take over and decide law, whether Constitutional or not.  The time for exodus from the state is upon us.  I suggest the rest of us do all within our power to help those who want to abandon this rogue state to leave.  In fact, we could offer it back to Mexico in lieu of amnesty for illegals.

It is my hope that someone with some common decency will step up and put this court in its place.  They cannot be allowed to strip average, hard working people of their rights, no matter what extreme agenda they have.  They should be removed from office and disgraced for their embracing of extremist ideas, those which go against the very grain of American fabric.  These are the type of courts that need to be overturned as un-American for viewing the wishes of extremists over rights of normal people.

When will we determine enough is enough?

Nazi California, USA

The California 2nd Appellate Court in Los Angeles has ruled that the First Amendment religion clause does not apply to parents who want to homeschool on the basis of religious beliefs.  In an opinion which eerily sounds like the law written by Adolph Hitler still in use in Germany today, the court found that a parents wish to homeschool because they do not agree with the teachings of the state is not reason enough for the state to allow them to do so, regardless of the fact that the California law states just that.  They determined that the states wish to teach student to conform to society overrules the parents wishes, no matter how degraded the society becomes.

Recently in California, the legislature passed, and Gov. Schwartzenegger signed, a law that not only makes it appropriate to teach alternative lifestyles such as homosexuality and transgenderism, but makes it a crime to teach in a way that would make someone from those groups uncomfortable.  Because of this, several groups are calling for the exodus of over 600,000 children this year from the California public schools.  This courts misinterpretation of the law, actually outright activism, is an obvious response.  The court is, in effect, telling those parents that they do not have a choice.

Homeschooling is growing in America.  With the slouching morals of public schools, complete lack of discipline in the classroom and the ever falling intellectual output, more and more parents are making the decision to teach their children themselves.  Statistics prove over and over that homeschooled children fare better on college entrance exams and in college classrooms than those educated in the public arena.  Yet, school boards and the teacher's union are in a constant battle to have homeschooling outlawed.

This latest move by a liberal, activist court in California is surely approaching the final straw.  While there is still the call for exodus from the classroom, this along with other actions taken in California over recent decades, leaves me to make a call for a different exodus; leave the state and let's give it back to Mexico.  With such newsworthy cities as San Francisco, Berkley and Hollywood, would we really lose that much if we ceded the whole state back to Mexico?  These fortresses of liberalism have surely proven that the state no longer wants to be part of this great nation.  With leaders like Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein, among others, surely they would do better under Mexican rule.  They would certainly be popular!

So, show this court that you will not allow them to take your God-given rights, as citizens and parents, and move from that darkened state.  Leave them to their deviate lifestyle and anti-Americanism.  There is nothing left there, nor anything redeeming.

Nancy Pelosi, The Best Friend A Terrorist Could Have

Since coming into the leadership position in the House last year, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has done more to aid and comfort terrorist than she has to serve the American people and provide for our safety.  Because she is filled with so much hatred for President Bush and traditional American values, she has been more interested in slowing down legislation that protects us and promoting legislation that will destroy everything we hold dear.  Her very actions benefit terrorists wishing to do harm to our great nation.

The latest incident is her refusal to bring the FISA bill, a bill that allows our intelligence agencies to gather information on those who communicate with terrorists overseas, to a vote.  Instead, she has decided that the House should take a break, letting the current legislation expire.  This, after the Senate was able to put together bipartisan legislation to extend the act.  Apparently, after only about 5 weeks of work, the House needs a break.

During this time of "work", there have been endless hours of hearings to determine whether Roger Clemens used steroids and a vote to hold Harriet Miers and Josh Bolten in contempt for their refusal to testify in the bogus, worthless, obstructionist hearings regarding the Presidents decision to fire his employees.  These follow a pattern of ineffective leadership by the Congresswoman from California.

Yet, when they do pass legislation, it is legislation that is detrimental to our nation.  I speak most of the recent stimulus package passed.  This is a bill destined to undermine and do very little good to our economy.  They pass omnibus bills that include billions in pork, talk of raising taxes, then give $150 billion to people who have very little chance of boosting the economy.

Pelosi's leadership has led to historically low approval ratings for Congress.  The people of the US see the worthlessness of her leadership, they see the ineffectiveness of the work of the House under her leadership, yet she continues to operate in this manner.  The only ones I see that have that kind of tenacity are the terrorists determined to destroy us.  Looking at the eventual outcome of Pelosi's actions, they have the same goal.
