I Just Can't Listen To Him Anymore!

I work in a location that has news going on a regular basis.  It is Fox News, at least, so I don't have to listen to the likes of CNN, MSNBC or the networks, fawn over Obama, but when he speaks, even Fox broadcasts it.  The more he speaks, the more I really dislike him and his agenda.

First of all, he speaks with such an arrogance.  As he begins to lay out his agenda and ideas, his voices screams that he knows better than everyone in America.  I really believe he thinks this way, too.  He knows more than us on health care, the military, international affairs, etc.  He goes on and on and on with his babble and even when he's wrong, as with the surge, he thinks he's better than us.  I just really can't listen to him anymore!

Second, the way he treats our allies makes me wonder who's interest he has at heart.  He speaks with such hatred and angst with regard to Iraqi President al-Maliki, but feels that what is best for our country is to sit down over a cup of tea with Ahmadinejad, Hamas and Hezbollah.  If I were al-Maliki, if Obama became President, I wouldn't give the man the time of day.  Does Obama realize that Iraq is now an ally?

Third, he is just so out of touch with reality and capitalism, that I just want to bash my head against the wall when he speaks.  Bigger government and more taxes.  I think he really thinks those things made America what it is today.  He wants more government involvement in our lives from education to health care.  Of course, to pay for that government intrusion, he'll need to tax all the evil people with money, but actually only those rich people who have worked for their money, not like the Democrat rich who got it the "old fashioned way" by inheriting it.  I just can't listen to him anymore!

Finally, his history is so far from reality, I can't believe him in anything.  He keeps talking about our military being stretched so thin and our deficits being so large.  He believes President Bush has decimated our military and spent like a drunken sailor.  I think he forgets that it was a Republican controlled Congress, before they went wild, that kept Clinton's spending under control and forced him to cut the size of government.  It was also Clinton who cut the military so drastically that Russia now feels confident that they can push us around.  Reagan would have never let them get away with it, and they wouldn't have tried.  Clinton cut the military so much that we can barely fight in two small republics in the Middle East.  If the Democrat controlled Congress would cut earmarks and worthless programs, as well as stop the flow of money south of the border from illegals, we'd have plenty of money.

Eight weeks.  That's how much longer we have to listen to him.  Surely, in that amount of time, the American people will come to their sense and tell him soundily, "We just can't listen to you anymore!"

Hypocrisy Of Wars

For more than five years, the rallying cry from the left has been that the Iraq war is an illegal, unjustified and wrong war.  They have carped that no WMDs were found, that Iraq didn't attack us or have anything to do with those who did, and that we had no right to be there.  They have made a war of fighting against this war.  Hypocrisy!

In December 1995, then President Bill Clinton shipped our soldiers to Bosnia for battle.  Now, when did Bosnia attack us?  Oh, yeah, I remember, it was...no, that's not it.  In fact, Bosnia did not attack us, nor did they even threaten us.  No, Clinton sent troops to Bosnia for the express purpose of covering up his own mistakes and scandals.  In fact, as a friend of mine from the region puts it, he sent troops to an area of the world where he had no business sending them.  He sent them to fight for a people who had no right to land they claimed and disrupted a government selected by its people.  His only excuse was that the government of Bosnia was involved in ethnic cleansing and gross atrocities and needed to be stopped.

In Congress in recent months, there have been loud calls for the US to send troops to Sudan to stop the genocide going on in the Darfur region.  The government of Sudan has never attacked us, nor have they been shown to support those who attack us.  They are involved in driving people from their homes and killing them in large numbers.  It is a battle over who will control the country, a civil war, of sorts.

In both of these instances, Democrats and Leftists have justified the sending in of troops, even war if necessary.  They have claimed that the massive loss of life and gross human rights violations demand that a country of our stature and strength do something.  Interesting.

As I recall, Saddam Hussein and his regime were dedicated to any cause that brought harm to the US.  They were also guilty of gross human rights violations and genocide.  They had mass executions of those who were opposed to their rule as well as being responsible for gassing hundreds of thousands of Kurds in northern Iraq.  They were acting almost identical to those in Bosnia and Sudan, except they were actually funding terrorist organizations such as Hamas.

So, why again is it that the Left opposes the war in Iraq?  Surely if they are interested in protecting human rights they would support the removal of a dictator so cruel as Saddam.  Surely if they are interested in stopping genocide, Saddam would have been somewhere on their radar.

The simple truth is that they oppose the war in Iraq, not because it is an illegal and wrong war, but because it is George Bush's war.  They see their own President as more of an enemy than a tyrant dictator such as Saddam Hussein.  They are so blinded by hatred of a fellow American that they have no sight to see what is truly right.

There were no hearings regarding the sending of troops to Bosnia, even a short two weeks before Christmas.  There will be no opposition from the right to trying to stop the genocide in Sudan.  Why?  Because the Right is able to see the world subjectively, through the eyes of right and wrong.  Genocide is wrong.  Rape rooms are wrong.  If they are wrong in Bosnia and Sudan, they are wrong in Iraq.  The Left, though, sees through their own eyes no such firm definitions of right and wrong.  They only see what's right for them, what's wrong to them.  This is hypocricy, but then again, they don't see it that way.

Gas Prices Going According To Left's Plan

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-al Qaida) and Sen. Harry Reid (D-Hamas) are just great at getting in front of cameras and reporters and pining about the rising gas prices.  They can show empathy and state that something needs to be done.  Even Hillary (D-Hezbollah) is showing that she's on our side by demanding a gas tax holiday with the evil gas companies paying for it.  But I see through their thinly veiled eco-terrorist friendly masks.

I've read several reports over the last few days about people with SUVs struggling to deal with the higher gas prices.  The resale of these vehicles is far below the average for used cars and many are having trouble unloading them.  No one seems to want something that gets less than 20 mpg.  My motorcycle and I can understand that.

This led me to think about what has been happening for the last few years on the SUV front.  Terror groups like PETA and Sierra Club have been complaining about the evils of SUVs, telling us that no one needs one.  Eco-minded Hollywood stars parrot those statements just before climbing into the back of their SUV limo.  They've decided that no one should be able to choose one of them, they should be removed from manufacturers fleets and have convinced their puppets in Congress to add gas guzzler taxes and force car companies to up their fleet mileage.

Keeping this in mind, sales continued to rise, so Democrats must have determined that the only deterrent would be higher gas prices.  So, for the last 16 years, they've done all they can to force gas prices up.  They've blocked intelligent, logical drilling in ANWR and other places in our sphere of control.  They've put up roadblock after roadblock to new refineries.  They've done everything they can to make sure gas prices continue to rise.  All the while, though, they've shed crocodile tears, telling us that the Right has been in the pocket of oil companies, wanting them to profit more and more.

Their not done, either.  As Hillary has stated, she wants to cut us 18 cents worth of slack and make oil companies pay with much higher windfall taxes.  I'm sure she knows that oil companies will not simply pay the tax, but will pass that along to us, as well as cutting production.  She's just trying to drive gas towards $8 per gallon, just like her friends in Europe, so we'll have to stop driving anything that remotely looks like a useful SUV.

There really is only one way to cut gas prices.  We must put more product on the market.  We must build more, many more, refineries that can refine the oil at a much higher rate.  We must also flood the market with more, much more oil.  If we were to drill in ANWR and flood the market with cheaper oil, the terrorist supporting nations would be forced to cut their prices.  The Left doesn't want that, though.  It doesn't fit their agenda.

So, as they cry about how the average person is struggling to pay for gas, food and energy bills, behind our backs, they are contemplating what they can do drive those prices even higher.  They are determined to fulfill the wishes of their eco-terrorist supporters, no matter how many people they hurt, or how dangerous they make the world.

Pennsylvania's Importance On November

Hillary Clinton took the Pennsylvania primary yesterday, as expected.  She won by almost 10 points, as expected.  It's only the Democratic Primary, though, right?  Well, maybe not.

For the past six weeks, we have been hearing how Barack Obama had the nomination locked up.  We heard calls from many for Hillary to call it quits and give him the nomination.  It was basically over.

Today, Hillary is feeling strengthened.  Her victory has given her what she needs to carry forward and the demographics she got in the election will bolster her calls to the Super Delegates to supporter, rather than Obama.  So, that victory may have just been what we need to make sure that neither Obama or Clinton end up in the White House.

You may ask how I can come to that conclusion?  Alright, here goes.

I believe the demographics won by Hillary will cause several Super Delegates to lean her way.  For decades, the Democrats have taken the African-American vote for granted.  Hillary's wooing of white, blue-collar males will be the decision maker for those SDs.  They'll decide they need her more than Obama.  That will be their downfall, though.

As they enter the convention, Obama's supporters will believe they have the nomination sewed up, even though they will not have the required number, either.  They'll be excited and confident.  The convention will end, though, with Hillary anointed to lead the party.  As that happens, Obama's supporters will become angry, believing that their vote never counted, and that the Democratic party has stepped on them.  They'll hate the party.

Now, that doesn't mean they'll run to the polls in November to pull the lever for McCain.  What they will do, though, is stay away from the polls altogether.  Because of the Democratic primary process, they'll believe there is no difference between the two parties.  They just won't vote.

Considering that a vast majority of Obama's support is coming from college students and African-Americans, they already believe that the system is broke and against them.  This year will only serve to support their beliefs.  Therefore, they will not vote in November.

As a firm Conservative, I have greatly enjoyed watching the Democrats hit full self-destruct mode during these primaries.  When Barack needed to surge, he did.  When Hillary has needed to gain momentum, she has.  Maybe this is the "divided America" that John Kerry spoke of.

Liars And Racists

It's no wonder the Democrats are ready for the primary season to be over.  If this thing goes on much longer, neither one will survive the scrutiny of the process.  I imagine, if it goes on too long, not even their own supporters will vote for them.

In just the past two weeks, we find that one is a bold-faced liar, the other a friend of racists.  Hillary's proclivity to lie should really come as no surprise, though, look at who she's married to.  As time goes on, we are finding out that more and more of Obama's friends are crazy racists.

Hillary's "misspoken" story of her trip to Bosnia, an illegal war started by her husband by the way, has really been found out to be a bold-faced lie.  It is angering many people, least of all the military.  It seems very unreasonable to believe that she would simple forget that there really was no sniper fire.  It seems that what she forgot to take into account is the fact that we live in a very technological age, one where cameras are everywhere.  Did she really think no one would check up on her?

I guess we should give her a pass, though.  She's not used to being under such scrutiny of the media.  For over 20 years, she has had the media in her pocket, on her side.  Now, though, with the media's fascination with Obama, they have to really go after her to ensure his victory.  The tide has turned, so to say.

Yet, with the new media of the internet, even Obama is not immune to scrutiny.  With the number of people out there looking for things, it was only a matter of time before someone found something significant.  Obama now has to deal with the skeletons in his closet.

What started out as just one crazy pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, has become more and more crazy racist friends.  It seems that each day, someone new is found to have ties to racists, or his church endorses some other crazy idea.  From Hamas to Farrakhan, his church and friends seem to have as radical ideas as the KKK.

This leads to the question of his selection of those he would have around him during a presidency.  What kind of people could we expect to populate an Obama cabinet?  If he doesn't want to separate himself from these kinds of people during this primary, what leads us to believe he would do so if he won?

Clearly, neither of these candidates is qualified to handle the most important position in world politics.  We cannot accept, nor can we afford, to allow either of these people to occupy the White House.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure the policies of John McCain do any better of a job in qualifying him.

Born Free, Taxed To Death

Gas prices are soaring, putting a pinch on family budgets.  Most Americans are spending about one quarter of their income on credit card interest, meaning there is less money to put into the economy.  Then, we have the wonderful Democrats and their brilliant tax policies.

In their rejection of the a renewal on the Bush tax cuts, Democrats have stated that they want to increase the taxes paid by the rich.  Who would those rich be?  According to their own words, anyone making $32,000 a year is rich.  $32,000.  Rich.

I've often wondered how people can believe that the likes of Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and others in the Democrat elite are the protectors of the poor.  These people wouldn't know poor if it slapped them in the face.  They have surely never been around many poor people for any length of time, especially if they consider an annual income of $32,000 to be rich.  Do they understand that it's many of these "rich" people who are among those facing mortgage foreclosure?

The fact that many of these Democrat Fat Cats inherited their fortunes, therefore exempting them from taxes, does not stop them from the idea of taxing the rest of us into absolute poverty.  They'll still have their fortunes, right?  Yet, they continue to come up with more and more taxes, trying to put us all in the poor house, which they'll then develop programs to care for us, making us utterly reliant on the government for our every necessity.

Now, on top of calling anyone making $32,000 rich, they think we should pay for programs to cut global warming with a gas tax.  Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich) is calling for a 50 cent tax on each gallon of gas to pay for programs to combat global warming.  Never mind that every day more and more evidence comes out that proves global warming is a hoax, we should accept another tax on gas to pay for it.

There is no way these people are actually concerned over the poor or global warming.  There would be nothing stopping them from donating the money they want to fund their projects.  Rep. Dingell could donate all he wants to fight global warming.  Ted Kennedy could use his family's fortune to provide health care for several thousand poor, if he was really interested in that.  That's not what they are worried about, though.

Again, it's not about caring for the poor or reducing the number of poor.  These guys get their power rush from there being so many poor.  The need there to be poor people.  No, it's about making as many people dependent on the government as possible.  In other words, it's about making as many poor as they possibly can.

We must stop this insane plan.  We cannot allow them to destroy America.  For that will surely be the outcome.

Obama's An Idiot

Ok, so maybe idiot is a little strong, but I am tired of hearing him demean our troops and undermine our national security.  Today, on the anniversary of our liberation of the people of Iraq, he has the audacity to claim that America is less safe today because of the war in Iraq.  These are either the words of an idiot, pandering or someone who is utterly naive.

Our nation is certainly no worse off today than we were on Sept. 10, 2001 after the failed policies of appeasement of eight years of Bill Clinton.  It was that very policy of appeasement and making believe that the problem is not there that led to 9/11.  Warning after warning was given by the terrorist, yet Bill and Friends chose to ignore the problem, pretending it didn't exist.  Obama thinks were were safer under those policies.

Naive may be a better term, though.  With the extremely limited foreign policy experience of the Senator, he is completely unaware of the goals and determination of our enemy.  To think that this enemy will simply lay down arms if we withdraw is absurd and dangerous.  Yet, that's just the kind of person he is.

Regardless of what the extreme Left, the MoveOns and Code Pinks, think, the truth is that our nation is far safer today than we were under the failed policies of the Clintons and Democrats.  Can we, then, afford to allow them back into control, white flag in hand, to hand our country over to the most barbaric enemy we have ever faced?

Character Matters

Following up on my post from yesterday, character in our country is something that has been tossed aside as completely unimportant.  Gov. Spitzer is trying to pass off his actions as simply a slip of judgment.  We are hearing from the left that his "personal" matters don't affect his accomplishments or his ability to lead.  My question would be, if his handling of "personal" matters don't affect his ability to lead, what does?

Ever since Bill Clinton's "personal" failures during his time in the White House, we have heard the lie that character doesn't matter.  What happens in someone's personal life should have no affect on their ability to lead, it shouldn't be brought up, we are told.  Yet, character is the most important gauge of a person.  If we can't trust someone to do the right thing when no one is looking, how can we trust them with power.  In this case, how can the people of New York trust this man with the leadership of their state if he has so little respect for his family?

Plain and simple, character matters.  In fact, it should be the most important aspect we look for when choosing our leaders.  Unfortunately, of late, quite the opposite occurs.

Thomas Sowell really brings this home in his article today.  Make sure you give it a read.

Nancy Pelosi Not Worried About Terrorism

Congress is now back after their recess.  They left a few weeks ago (I guess a couple of months of four day work weeks are just too much for them) without addressing the soon to expire FISA wiretapping bill.  This bill would have continued to authorize the intelligence agencies to wiretap any individual in the US who had contact with anyone on the list of al-Qaida found during raids in Afghanistan.  Nancy Pelosi decided to take this bill up after their recess.

So, now that they are back, where is the discussion and vote on this bill?  Instead, Pelosi has decided that she would spend the Congress' valuable time filing a lawsuit against the White House for firing their employees.  She is apparently not worried about what terrorists have to say or what plans they may be making.

This is the kind of irresponsible leadership we have come to see from the Pelosi leadership.  She has her own agenda and not even the safety of our nation will deter her from following that agenda.  She is often flanked by the likes of Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, among others.

What does this say about the Democratic Party?  Where are their priorities?

Obama's Empty Rhetoric

Since he began his bid for the White House, Sen. Barak Obama has screamed from the highest mountain that he will bring troops home from Iraq before his hand comes down at his swearing in.  It is what has gotten him the backing of Move On and the Leftist base.  It has energized them and boosted his chances in these primaries.

Now, when questioned about the possibility of al Qaeda setting up shop in Iraq, he has stated that he would reserve his right as Commander-in-Chief to send troops back in to battle them.  As Sen. McCain pointed out, al Qaeda is currently in Iraq and has set up shop.  Obama then quipped back that he reads the papers and he is aware that they are there.

So, my question is, why would he withdraw troops from a situation he would send them back into?

Since al Qaeda is currently in Iraq, why would he withdraw troops, allowing al Qaeda to gain strength and a foothold?  Would that not put our troops into a worse situation than they currently are in?  Would that not alienate our allies in the Iraqi government by showing them we are not committed to their survival, making the task more difficult than it needs to be?

What we see now is Obama trying to shift from his Leftist, pacifist position to satisfy his radical base to a position that will make him more palatable to the general voting public.  As with everything else we hear from him; words, words, words.  With the little experience he has, he has learned the value of empty rhetoric.

He can complain all he wants about the "illegal" war in Iraq (he'll also have to deal with the illegal action Bill Clinton took in Kosovo that has led to the instability of that region of the world), but the truth is that we are now fighting al Qaeda in the Middle East, not here in America.  The vast majority of Congressmen and Senators, on both sides of the aisle, including Sens. Kerry, Kennedy and Clinton, believed for many years that Iraq was indeed a front in the War on Terror.  We have the responsibility to fight them and defeat them there.

Now, we will begin to see a whole new Obama.  He will begin to run to the middle, hoping to fool America into believing that he is the right man for the job.  We will not, though, be fooled.
