Three weeks ago, the Senate passed an extension of the FISA wiretapping bill with strong bipartisan support. All that was needed was for the House to do the same thing and it would not expire and our intelligence agencies would have the tools they need to protect us. This bill allows our agencies to listen in to phone lines when known terrorists call someone within this country. Who could possibly be against that?
In that three weeks, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-al-Qaida) has stalled and done everything but bring that bill to the floor. She has let the protection lapse and put our country at risk. The terrorists know it and have no doubt used this time as an opportunity to plan and scheme their worst.
In response, Rep. Pelosi (D-al-Qaida) has brought to the floor legislation that will not protect our nation, nor will it be passed by the Senate or be signed by the President. What it will do is protect the incomes of trial lawyers for years to come, along with give the terrorists free reign over the airwaves to plot and plan to their hearts content. It is nothing more than a stall tactic, which puts us at greater risk the longer she stalls.
It seems that Rep. Pelosi (D-al-Qaida) has no intention of granting our intelligence agencies the tools they need to protect our nation. She will not protect American companies who aid the government in rooting out these terrorists. Are these not treasonous actions?
So, just who does Rep. Pelosi (D-al-Qaida) represent?
