Freedom

Apparently it's not really about freedom, after all.  As over one million voters in California signed on to a petition to put a Constitutional amendment on the November ballot, members of the homosexual community are petitioning the high court in that state to ban the vote.  It seems that the gay community in California doesn't believe the people of California have a right to petition their government and vote to have their voices heard.

As much as they'd like for us to believe that this is all about freedom, privacy and civil rights, they have no problem stripping the general public of their freedom, forcing their "private" matter into the public spotlight and denying the most basic of rights, the right to define society.  Therefore, they head to a liberal court to have their view forced on the people of California, who have already passed a law that their desire is to define marriage as one man and one woman.

They rest everything on one argument; civil rights.  Often times we hear them compare their "struggle" to that of  African-Americans.  Blacks in our nation fought so hard and so long to gain the equal rights they are due, now the gay community has no problem trampling the significance of that battle.  They belittle the black community in our nation and thumb their noses at society in general in doing so.

Their primary keyword is love.  It's all about love.  Government should discriminate on the basis of love.  They should have the same rights as others to love who they want.  Love, love, love.  It's obvious, they have no idea what real love is and are trying to pervert its true meaning.

I would never doubt or question someone's love for another.  Love is the most powerful emotion known to man.  It is also our most important.  It drives us to do things for others that we might otherwise not be willing to do.  It draws us together and propagates the species.  We should love others, regardless of their physical attributes, gender, race, etc.

That doesn't mean we marry everyone we love.  I love my pastor at church.  I would do anything for him.  He is a very close, personal friend.  I feel very close to him.  That in no way means that I'm thinking of marrying or sleeping with him.

This issue is all about sex for homosexuals.  They want to have sex with who they want and they don't want anyone telling them it's wrong or sinful.  They want the state to sanction it, put its blessing on it, so no one can say anything.  That's all this is about.

I'm not even buying that it's about hospital visitation or property rights.  Those are things that can be taken care of with wills, living wills and other legal documents.  Almost anything we have been led to believe they are interested in can be handled with a legal document without having to force gay marriage on a society that deems that perverted.

So, on this sacred weekend when we celebrate the brave steps our Founding Fathers took to secure us the freedom to govern ourselves and decide on the kind of society we will be, remember that there is an element of our society that wants to suppress our rights and our voice.  The fight is not over.

BTW, Sen. Obama, who once stated that he felt each state should be able to decide on their own whether they want to allow gay marriage or not, has stated that he is opposed the the California amendment that would ban it.  In other words, he's decided that Californians shouldn't be allowed to decide for themselves if they want to allow gay marriage after the court has made its decision.  So, I guess what he means is that each state Supreme Court should decide whether they want to allow gay marriage.

SCOTUS Finally Gets One Right

Today, the Supreme Court finally ruled that the Founding Fathers meant what they said when it upheld the 2nd Amendment as a personal right.  In a 5-4 ruling, they overturned the gun ban in Washington, D.C., the strictest in the US.  The ruling means that our Founding Fathers really meant to endow the right to protect ourselves on us, not the government.

It only makes sense, really.  The Founding Fathers were really against a centralizing of powers.  In that, they gave us three branches of government and a Constitution that specifically divided those powers and gave the majority of rights to us, the people.  In letter after letter from the Fathers, they stated their distrust of centralized government and their concern should that government become too powerful.  Today, the Supreme Court delivered a victory, not only to us, but also to those Fathers.

Of interest, though, is the dissent of Justice Stevens in which he thought, surely, the Founding Fathers wanted to make sure the government had the right to regulate gun ownership.  I'm not sure which Constitution he's reading (hard to tell these days with all the "international" law woven into liberal decisions) or which Founders he's referring to.  Many letters, specifically from Jefferson, expressed concern for the central government growing too powerful and the need for the people to be armed to prevent that power from becoming absolute.  I guess a letter from a Founder doesn't carry any weight in decisions.  Oops, except for a letter written by Jefferson in which the idea of separation of church and state is taken out of context and misinterpreted.

Hopefully this ruling, after the botched one on child rapists yesterday, will put the SCOTUS back on track.  I doubt it, though.

Citizenship: Worthless

Thanks to Justice's Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg, Stevens and Breyer, there is now no difference between citizens of the United States and non-citizens.  These five destroyers of the Constitution have taken that grand old document, lit a fire to it and thrown it in the face of every American.  It's a shame we can't box them up and send them to Europe, where they so long to be.

These five bozos have now granted to enemy combatants of the United States those rights reserved in the Constitution for US citizens.  They have decided that citizenship means nothing by giving them all the rights reserved for citizenship.  While these enemies, the combatants, have done their best to kill our young men and women in uniform, have never set foot on US soil, and hate our very freedoms, these enemies, the justices, feel they should be treated as honest, God-fearing American citizens.

This really should come as no surprise in our country by now.  With the freedom to cross the border, get drunk and kill our citizens on the roads that has been given to illegals for the past 20 years, it only made sense.  The courts and the Left have been trying to prove for years that citizenship means nothing.  They have fought against American sovereignty as hard as they can.  While history and the Right, and most Americans for that matter, consider America a special, wonderful place, the Left hates it and wants to destroy it.  This is just one more instance.

With this latest ruling, the court continues to show its complete irrelevance.  The court has lost its moral authority, its credibility and its mind.  It has become predictable and more liberal by the day.  Even the addition of strong American, conservative men as Roberts and Alito, joining with Thomas and Scalia, cannot ebb the flow to the left.  Hopefully, this will be the incident that leads to some impeachments of out-of-touch justices.  We need them gone from the bench.

At least they will show John McCain the kind of justices not to pick if he is elected.  Unfortunately, we will get more of the same should B. Hussein Obama win the White House.

Hypocrisy Of Wars

For more than five years, the rallying cry from the left has been that the Iraq war is an illegal, unjustified and wrong war.  They have carped that no WMDs were found, that Iraq didn't attack us or have anything to do with those who did, and that we had no right to be there.  They have made a war of fighting against this war.  Hypocrisy!

In December 1995, then President Bill Clinton shipped our soldiers to Bosnia for battle.  Now, when did Bosnia attack us?  Oh, yeah, I remember, it was...no, that's not it.  In fact, Bosnia did not attack us, nor did they even threaten us.  No, Clinton sent troops to Bosnia for the express purpose of covering up his own mistakes and scandals.  In fact, as a friend of mine from the region puts it, he sent troops to an area of the world where he had no business sending them.  He sent them to fight for a people who had no right to land they claimed and disrupted a government selected by its people.  His only excuse was that the government of Bosnia was involved in ethnic cleansing and gross atrocities and needed to be stopped.

In Congress in recent months, there have been loud calls for the US to send troops to Sudan to stop the genocide going on in the Darfur region.  The government of Sudan has never attacked us, nor have they been shown to support those who attack us.  They are involved in driving people from their homes and killing them in large numbers.  It is a battle over who will control the country, a civil war, of sorts.

In both of these instances, Democrats and Leftists have justified the sending in of troops, even war if necessary.  They have claimed that the massive loss of life and gross human rights violations demand that a country of our stature and strength do something.  Interesting.

As I recall, Saddam Hussein and his regime were dedicated to any cause that brought harm to the US.  They were also guilty of gross human rights violations and genocide.  They had mass executions of those who were opposed to their rule as well as being responsible for gassing hundreds of thousands of Kurds in northern Iraq.  They were acting almost identical to those in Bosnia and Sudan, except they were actually funding terrorist organizations such as Hamas.

So, why again is it that the Left opposes the war in Iraq?  Surely if they are interested in protecting human rights they would support the removal of a dictator so cruel as Saddam.  Surely if they are interested in stopping genocide, Saddam would have been somewhere on their radar.

The simple truth is that they oppose the war in Iraq, not because it is an illegal and wrong war, but because it is George Bush's war.  They see their own President as more of an enemy than a tyrant dictator such as Saddam Hussein.  They are so blinded by hatred of a fellow American that they have no sight to see what is truly right.

There were no hearings regarding the sending of troops to Bosnia, even a short two weeks before Christmas.  There will be no opposition from the right to trying to stop the genocide in Sudan.  Why?  Because the Right is able to see the world subjectively, through the eyes of right and wrong.  Genocide is wrong.  Rape rooms are wrong.  If they are wrong in Bosnia and Sudan, they are wrong in Iraq.  The Left, though, sees through their own eyes no such firm definitions of right and wrong.  They only see what's right for them, what's wrong to them.  This is hypocricy, but then again, they don't see it that way.

Yep, He's Still An Idiot!

You'd think that with his father being a Muslim, he'd understand that there is absolutely no negotiating with a country like Iran.  B. Hussein Obama says that he wouldn't negotiate with terrorists, but that he would negotiate with countries like Iran.  You know, the ones that support terrorists.

As was asked from him, what would he say to them to get them to negotiate?  Is there anything he could say to Iran that would get them to like us better or to back off their talk about ridding the world of Israel?  Just what does he expect as an answer:  Oh, since you put it that way, Mr. President, we're sorry that we've been killing your troops and calling for the destruction of Israel?

There is only one thing he could say that would gain favor with Iran.  If he were to pledge troops, arms and nukes to destroy Israel, Iran might be willing to talk to us.  Their Muslims, that's all they want.  Period.

So, are we to understand that, in the name of peace with a terrorist nation, B. Hussein Obama might be willing to do just that?  I don't think any loving, compassionate Christian would do that.  Of course, we have seen the kind of "Christianity" that he was mentored under.

Of course, the interesting thing to all this is that the President never mentioned any names in his speech.  For B. Hussein Obama to take offense, there must be more to his conscience that meets the eye.  I also think, if this kind of criticism bothers him, maybe he shouldn't be running for the White House.  President Bush has had to endure far worse, and actually direct, criticism from everyone on the Left, especially Obama's largest supporter and financier, MoveOn.org.

If Obama is the best the Left have to offer, I fear for our country.  If he wins, I really fear for our country.  I guess it really does take a village to raise an idiot.

California...Really?

Once again the omniscient California Supreme Court has decided it is smarter and more holy than the people of California.  The people of California voted to define marriage as one man and one woman.  It's the will of the people.  Yet, today, the Court decided they couldn't do that.

This is not the first time it has happened, either.  In 1986, the people voted that local governments could not raise taxes without the will of the people.  A court overturned that.  Several years ago, as well, the people of California voted that they didn't want to fund health care and education for illegals.  The court said they couldn't do it.

We are seeing this happen more and more, not only in California, where the courts decide that the people do not have the right to set their own rules and laws.  In this case, the people of California have clearly stated that they don't want the deviance of homosexuality honored and preferred to heterosexuality.  They decided that all are treated equal, every man can marry the woman of his choice without restriction and every woman can marry the man of her choice without restriction.  They decided they did not want to sanction the perversion and lust of a few.  They understood, if this perversion is allowed, what is next?  What of polygamy?  What of marriage to a child?  Can anything be limited?

I have to say that I'm not at all really surprised by this ruling.  Anyone who didn't see this coming really should get their head out of the sand.  Sure, there will be those who will say that there were 6 Republicans on the court.  Remember, though, this is a state where Arnold Schwartzenegger is considered a Republican.  California has been lost for years.  I think now, this is just one more straw on the camels back, it's time to consider pulling out of California.  If Democrats in Washington are calling for us to pull out of Iraq, because we've lost, surely they'll see the same situation in California.  We've lost!

Maybe we can give it back to Mexico, move the rest of the illegals there and get back to rationality and sanity.

Gas Prices Going According To Left's Plan

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-al Qaida) and Sen. Harry Reid (D-Hamas) are just great at getting in front of cameras and reporters and pining about the rising gas prices.  They can show empathy and state that something needs to be done.  Even Hillary (D-Hezbollah) is showing that she's on our side by demanding a gas tax holiday with the evil gas companies paying for it.  But I see through their thinly veiled eco-terrorist friendly masks.

I've read several reports over the last few days about people with SUVs struggling to deal with the higher gas prices.  The resale of these vehicles is far below the average for used cars and many are having trouble unloading them.  No one seems to want something that gets less than 20 mpg.  My motorcycle and I can understand that.

This led me to think about what has been happening for the last few years on the SUV front.  Terror groups like PETA and Sierra Club have been complaining about the evils of SUVs, telling us that no one needs one.  Eco-minded Hollywood stars parrot those statements just before climbing into the back of their SUV limo.  They've decided that no one should be able to choose one of them, they should be removed from manufacturers fleets and have convinced their puppets in Congress to add gas guzzler taxes and force car companies to up their fleet mileage.

Keeping this in mind, sales continued to rise, so Democrats must have determined that the only deterrent would be higher gas prices.  So, for the last 16 years, they've done all they can to force gas prices up.  They've blocked intelligent, logical drilling in ANWR and other places in our sphere of control.  They've put up roadblock after roadblock to new refineries.  They've done everything they can to make sure gas prices continue to rise.  All the while, though, they've shed crocodile tears, telling us that the Right has been in the pocket of oil companies, wanting them to profit more and more.

Their not done, either.  As Hillary has stated, she wants to cut us 18 cents worth of slack and make oil companies pay with much higher windfall taxes.  I'm sure she knows that oil companies will not simply pay the tax, but will pass that along to us, as well as cutting production.  She's just trying to drive gas towards $8 per gallon, just like her friends in Europe, so we'll have to stop driving anything that remotely looks like a useful SUV.

There really is only one way to cut gas prices.  We must put more product on the market.  We must build more, many more, refineries that can refine the oil at a much higher rate.  We must also flood the market with more, much more oil.  If we were to drill in ANWR and flood the market with cheaper oil, the terrorist supporting nations would be forced to cut their prices.  The Left doesn't want that, though.  It doesn't fit their agenda.

So, as they cry about how the average person is struggling to pay for gas, food and energy bills, behind our backs, they are contemplating what they can do drive those prices even higher.  They are determined to fulfill the wishes of their eco-terrorist supporters, no matter how many people they hurt, or how dangerous they make the world.

Uncompassionate Islam

Those on the left, and some in Europe, complain about the wealth of the United States.  They claim we abuse the poor with our capitalist economy.  They harp and moan about the evils of the US and our greed.  Let's ask the World Food Program (WFP) what they think.

In a report on Fox News this morning, they report how the US gives $1.16 billion to the WFP each year.  This is listed as more than five times that given by the next highest donor, the European Commission.  On top of that, President Bush has promised an additional $250 million this year to help combat escalating food prices worldwide.

In stark contrast to US giving is that given by the oil-rich Middle Eastern Islamic countries.  Saudia Arabia, for example, which makes $164 billion each year off its oil, does not even show up on the giving list for this year.  The same is true of other Islamic countries whose main source of income is from oil.  So, while these countries are responsible for the escalation of hunger around the world, they offer nothing in return.  In response to the estimate that 100 million people will be added to the list of the starving, the oil-rich Islamic Middle Eastern countries have nothing to offer.

There are countries on the list of giving which are also among the receivers.  Even those countries have a larger heart to help the hurting and hungry than the leaders of the oil-rich Islamic nations.  It does mirror giving to charitable organizations in the US, where those in Blue States give less than those in Red States, even though the incomes in Blue States is higher than those in Red States.

With gas prices in the US approaching $4 per gallon, and prices in Europe in the $8 per gallon range, in the oil-rich Islamic nations gas is still under $1 per gallon.  These Islamic leaders have no problem making extreme amounts of money from the rest of the world, passing that along to their own people, yet want nothing to do with helping the rest of the world.

I would suggest that it is due, in part, to their desire to spread their message.  Indonesia is the largest Islamic nation in the world because the Islamic nations focused on it, sending money and education.  With that money came the religious training.  They outgave, so Islam became the predominant religion, and now the only religion.  (BTW, Indonesia produces more terrorists than any other nation)

I would suggest that these oil-rich Islamic nations might be willing to send money for food if they could bring their message, but in recent years we see that their greed is more powerful than that.  In December 2004, when the tsunami hit the Indian Ocean, the US out gave every oil-rich Islamic nation.  Combined.

So, as we begin looking for causes to the rising gas, food and energy prices, we need to give the oil companies a break.  Yes, they are making record profits, but they also invest in research, and their profits are due in large part to the amount of oil being consumed worldwide.  Let's not forget to look at the greedy oil-rich Islamic nations, those willing to do nothing for the poor of the world, even though they have more resources to do so than anyone else.  I guess we can just chalk it up to the compassion of Islam.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright Must Be Right

This morning the ever sane Rosie O'Donnell stated that she felt that the Rev. made sense.  So, that settles it, he must be right.  Right?

What does make sense is that one fruit cake agrees with another fruit cake.  The fact that Rosie agrees should make the Rev. Wright rethink his statements.  I know if I said something and Rosie agreed, I'd recant and begin speaking in the opposite direction.

Rosie is even further out in left field than Rev. Wright.  Her views on social norms are, or should be, counter to everything Wright believes.  Her views on 9/11 are even further out there than the Revs.  She doesn't simply think we got what we deserved, we had an active part in it.

Unfortunately, the Reverend's views are not really that far off from Rosie's.  While she is decidedly anti-Christian, his views are not exactly mainstream.  When he can twist a statement from Jesus to support Islam as a "way" to salvation, which Jesus never intended, he can twist the Scriptures to support any wacko idea he has.  Rosie is anti-American, which lines up directly with Rev. Wright.

This should shed more light, then, on just how out of touch Rev. Wright is.  The fact that Obama could sit under his teaching, calling him an important mentor, for 20 years and only now denounce him, I think proves that one thing the Rev. said is true; Obama's denouncement was just political, something he had to say.

Bush On Oil Prices

I have been so glad this week to hear the President come out so strongly criticizing the Democratic leadership for their policies on energy.  He has twice reminded Americans that were it not for the likes of Pelosi and Reid, and their love affair with eco-terrorist groups like Sierra Club and PETA, we could be drilling on American soil and building more refineries.  He is just now placing the blame squarely where it belongs and reminding Americans just who is to blame.

Despite promises during the 2006 election that the Left had the answers for high oil prices, prices have continued to rise.  Maybe that was their answer; higher prices!  They continue to show that they have no idea how to lead this country and how to get lower prices at the pump.

Of course, we have Hillary and Obama out there telling us the answer is to tax the profits of the big oil companies.  In this they show their stupidity and lack of knowledge of how a market economy works.  Sure, they can tax the oil companies $10-15 Billion.  Sure, the companies will send it to the government.  Who do you think will pay it, though?  We will.  The Left has never figured out that every tax they put on business gets shuffled down to us, the consumer.  Stupid.

I hope the President continues to apply pressure on Congress, reminding the people of ANWR and the old refineries.  If he can keep that out there, reminding the Democratic leadership that their inaction in proof that they don't care, maybe we can derail the Left once and for all and rid our country of these socialists.  Let's send them to Cuba where they long to be.

Bad Economic News For Democrats

The worst fears of the Democratic Party were realized today; the country is NOT in a recession.  According to figures, the economy grew by .6% in the first quarter of 2008.  That coupled with the fact that the last quarter of 2007 was also a small growth, about the same, and the quarter before that was an even larger growth, any talk of recession is simply wishful thinking by the Left.

Even though a recession is defined as two successive quarter of decline, the Left had truly hoped for at least one quarter so they could continue to use the R-word.  That would have surely led to them pulling out the D-word shortly.  Now they will have to try to find other words to tell us just how bad off we are doing.

Isn't it amazing that a party in this country can continue to consider itself a representative of the people, all the while hoping and banking on the destruction and downfall of that country.  The Left have so much invested in the failure of the US, yet people still vote for them, believing they are the salvation of our nation.

Sorry, Barack and Hillary, you'll have to hope for some other kind of destruction of America.

Proof Of Media Aid And Comfort To Enemy

Since the beginning of the Iraq War, supporters of the troops and the war have complained that the Mainstream Media, MSM, have provided aid and comfort to the enemy.  The Left has mocked and ridiculed us, complaining that we are making it up to cast them in a bad light.  The Department of Defense has released a report detailing two surges in US casualties.

Both surges came after specific incidents that garnered much attention in the MSM.  The first was the Abu Ghraib incident and the second was the Congressional ban on "torture."  Media attention from the first caused a backlash from the enemy, strengthening their resolve.  The second resulted in a lack of information being gathered, leading to more attacks from the enemy succeeding.  WorldNetDaily has an analysis of the report you can read here.

The MSM did such a job of trying the Abu Ghraib incident in the court of the public eye, the enemy was further enraged and became more determined.  Rather than allow the military to handle the incident and punish those responsible of wrongdoing, the MSM decided it would be better to point it out to the enemy.  They may have thought it would only cause problems for President Bush in the States, but that's not what happened.  Yet, they have never felt any remorse for the surge in American deaths their actions led to.

The second surge was a direct result of a lack of what the military calls "coercive interrogation."  The MSM and Congress decided to call this torture.  Congress banned a list of techniques, handcuffing our men in action from getting the information they desperately need to save lives.  Interrogators can spend hours and weeks and months trying to get information from terrorists by simply asking them questions.  One waterboarding instance took thirty seconds, saving lives.  These terrorists are prepared for our techniques, willing to wait out our interrogators.  When we throw something at them that they were not prepared for, they break in short order.  Are some of these techniques harsh or extreme?  Maybe.  Did I mention, though, we are fighting terrorists, who don't have any problem in cutting someone's head off?  I think since we are not stooping to their level, we are not, in any way, as bad as they are.

Plain and simple, because the MSM has chosen to attack and attempt to discredit this President with their stories, they have placed our troops in far greater danger and provided aid and comfort to our enemy.  Yet, they want us to believe they support the troops.  I think not.

Hypocrites Of Disenfranchisement

Ever since the 2000 election, we have heard tale after tale, complaint after complaint, stating that the Republican party is systematically disenfranchising voters.  First it was voters in Florida, then in Ohio, among other places.  Every time the Democrats don't win an election their prognosticators tell them they will win, they scream about disenfranchisement of the voters.  I've often wondered how they can tell what it looks like to have voters disenfranchised.

According to my friend, Blue Collar Muse, over at the Tennessee ConserVOLiance, it's because they have been doing it.

While not one claim they have against Republicans has ever been found to be true, they are systematically working across the nation to keep voters from letting their voice be heard.  Whether it's the abortion issue in Tennessee or the gay marriage issue in Massachusetts or homeschooling in California, they work to have voters signatures kept off petitions or take so long verifying them, that the time expires.  Yet, at the same time, in Memphis, they have votes from dead people to elect a member of a known corrupt family.  They use judges to overrule votes of the people and legislatures elected by people.

It's time for the American people to wake up and realize that the Democrats have become elitists and no longer have the good of our nation at heart.  They are only interested in their power and their special causes.  We must rid ourselves of them and restore freedom and democracy in our nation.

Pennsylvania's Importance On November

Hillary Clinton took the Pennsylvania primary yesterday, as expected.  She won by almost 10 points, as expected.  It's only the Democratic Primary, though, right?  Well, maybe not.

For the past six weeks, we have been hearing how Barack Obama had the nomination locked up.  We heard calls from many for Hillary to call it quits and give him the nomination.  It was basically over.

Today, Hillary is feeling strengthened.  Her victory has given her what she needs to carry forward and the demographics she got in the election will bolster her calls to the Super Delegates to supporter, rather than Obama.  So, that victory may have just been what we need to make sure that neither Obama or Clinton end up in the White House.

You may ask how I can come to that conclusion?  Alright, here goes.

I believe the demographics won by Hillary will cause several Super Delegates to lean her way.  For decades, the Democrats have taken the African-American vote for granted.  Hillary's wooing of white, blue-collar males will be the decision maker for those SDs.  They'll decide they need her more than Obama.  That will be their downfall, though.

As they enter the convention, Obama's supporters will believe they have the nomination sewed up, even though they will not have the required number, either.  They'll be excited and confident.  The convention will end, though, with Hillary anointed to lead the party.  As that happens, Obama's supporters will become angry, believing that their vote never counted, and that the Democratic party has stepped on them.  They'll hate the party.

Now, that doesn't mean they'll run to the polls in November to pull the lever for McCain.  What they will do, though, is stay away from the polls altogether.  Because of the Democratic primary process, they'll believe there is no difference between the two parties.  They just won't vote.

Considering that a vast majority of Obama's support is coming from college students and African-Americans, they already believe that the system is broke and against them.  This year will only serve to support their beliefs.  Therefore, they will not vote in November.

As a firm Conservative, I have greatly enjoyed watching the Democrats hit full self-destruct mode during these primaries.  When Barack needed to surge, he did.  When Hillary has needed to gain momentum, she has.  Maybe this is the "divided America" that John Kerry spoke of.

The Value Of Life

Roe v Wade was decided in 1972.  We were told that it would eliminate children coming into situations where they were unwanted and protect women from dangerous, back-alley abortions.  We were told it would ensure that children were treated better, as they would be in situations where they were wanted and apprecitated.

Complete, vivid sex education has been a part of public education for several decades.  We were told that it would teach children and teens to protect themselves.  We were told that it would reduce teen pregnancy.  We were told it would teach them to respect themselves.

We were lied to.

Aside from the fact that abortion is the ultimate form of child abuse, incidents of child abuse have risen.  People no longer value the life of children.  How many children have had to hear from a parent, "I should have aborted you?"  How many parents have secretly told themselves that, even without voicing it to their children?  If they have at least thought it, what does that say about the value of the lives of these children?

Sex education, rather than teach young people to respect themselves, it has opened a Pandora's box of teens exploring sex and trying to disassociate emotions from actions.  While we want teens to "just say no" to drugs, heaven forbid we teach them that about sex!  Teens are now experimenting with sex, with girls trying to act like boys regarding emotions, feelings and promiscuity, ignoring the fact that this kind of activity leads to depression and suicide.  We are just not designed to behave like that.

So, what has got me on my tirade today?  I just read a story of a Houston teen, a 14-year-old girl, who gave birth in her Middle School bathroom and decided to flush the child down the toilet.  How could someone do that and not feel immediate guilt?  How can a society produce someone who would act in such a manner?  Can such a society survive itself for long?

Rather than all we were promised, we now have a generation of young people who have been taught that sex is nothing more than an animal instinct that they can't resist, in fact that they should embrace, and that abortion is just one more form of birth control.  I'm sure that was what led to this young girl's actions.  It was the unashamed animal sex that led to the pregnancy, and the only thing she did wrong was that she didn't get an abortion.  If she had gone to a Planned Parenthood clinic instead of school that morning, she would have been heralded as a hero for exercising her right to choose.  I'm sure in here mind, there was no difference.

Every day on the news, we hear stories of parents killing their children to get even with a spouse, perverts stealing the innocence of children for their own gratification and children being beaten or otherwise abused.  There is so much violence against our children.  How have we come to so remove value from them?

I have two children, one natural and one adopted.  They are both precious to me.  While I can be stern in my discipline, to protect and teach them, I cannot imagine my life without them.  I value them.  Unfortunately, I don't think we are teaching our young people to value themselves, or life.
